Hey i just sold my 1991 3kgt sl and bought my 1991 3kgt vr4 last week. The vr4 is quick but it doesn't seem to be as fast as i thought it would be. For some reason, my sl almost seemed to feel faster and it also seemed to pull a lot more...Any ideas or thoughts?

Theres no wheel spin all go.

Do a pressure test of your intake system. Check for boost leaks

Plugs wires

Compression test.

In short the only way that it is slower is if something is wrong.

175 hp vs 300 hp ?
There is no way, something is wrong with your car for sure.
1 or both turbos dead, engine problem.
pray to god it's not something major

222hp.

The Vr4's don't feel much faster due to the AWD system.. but they are.

my other friend has a gto and one of his friends has a turbod integra, he keps losing to the integra, he found one of of his turbos was gone, changed the 1 turbo and beat it.

if you feel semi-fast than one of your turbos might need replacement, you will still hear the whining turbo sound with 1 turbo, i don't think there is a way to tell if both are spooling or just one.

Pull the intake pipes off and see if you have any shaftplay.

Any smoke?

no, no smoke
and i have a '93 motor in my car and the guy gave me 2 spare turbos from his old '91 motor that he had in it so i guess i can get the turbos checked and if one is bad then i can just get it swapped out....btw how would you check if a turbo is working or not?

The wheel that spinns should spin freely, It should NOT move side to side or in and out.

There is no try.

Get a 8mm wrench take the clamp off the hose on the intake of the turbo, stick finger in hole spin wheel, push wheel, move side to side.

If it does anything other then spin you have a problem.

The front turbo is cake. 30 minutes tops. The rear turbo can take up to 2 hours.
