It depends how you told him and exactly what the response was. There is no cat available for our cars yet, unless you go with full exhaust from Injen , or a universal high flow cat (unless our cats have 02 sensor built in, then u're SOL anyways). Then again, unless you are in Cali, Injen wont fit your car. What exactly do you mean by sports exhaust anyways? just high performance, fart can style muffler? And if this was an exhaust shop, why are you asking them about intake? And what in the world are extractors? Exhaust Extractor is another word for a muffler. You should probably clarify your questions to the guy and ask him to clarify his answer instead of blowing up and cussing him out. In my opinion you probably didnt clarify what you want and the guy didnt understand you right. Bottom line, exhaust shop can build you a custom made exhaust, from header down. Last but not least, look around the forum and see what options are available for intake/exhaust setups.

QUOTE(TuX_69 @ Apr 17 2008, 09:17 AM) Before going into the shop i asked them if they do intakes, they said yes. By sports exhaust i mean a full exhaust like Ti-C from Greddy you know with the cannon and what not... I live in Australia so your saying that means the CAI for 2008 lancers that Injen advertises will not fit my car unless im from Cali??? thats well... confusing... I didnt cuss him out i told him politely i was merely exaggerating after all he did let me use his lift which was good so i could see what was going on better... Extractors are usually used when the original manifold has cracked due to extreme heat, or if you want more performance or fuel economy out of your vehicle. Also known as headers its goal is to make it easier for the engine to push the exhaust gases out of the engine cylinders. Sorry i was still firery when i created this... Tux well first off. the greddy exhaust for our cars is an axel back not full. second. no hes saying the injen EXHAUST wont fit your car unless you have a cali spec car. not the intake. (because if you looked around injen has a full exhaust system as well as a CAI for our car) the intake will fit any car on any part of tha world. and i have never heard of extractors either. they have always been called headers where i come from. bottom line...if you came in my shop and asked for all this i probly would have told you the same thing he did.

Everything I would have replied, gotthatGTS already said.. :)
They are overnighting headers? What brand did you get, I think the only company that makes them so far is RRM? There is no header back exhaust yet other than Injen, and Injen wont work on your car since you're not in cali. You just need to have exhaust shop make you a custom one. Get separate muffler, high flow catalytic converter and resonator (and yes, you need resonator, otherwise your car will sound like A$$). So the guy was able to get you a high flow cat too? or you havent found that yet? cuz once again, our cats have O2 sensor in it, so an aftermarket one wont work unless they make em with 02 bung.

QUOTE(TuX_69 @ Apr 23 2008, 11:52 PM) Can a highflow air filter work hand in hand with a CAI or can you have only one or the other? CAI already comes with high flow air filter. it replaces your entire intake system. If you are talking about the drop in high flow filter, then im totally confused.. u wanna have 2 filters?
