Hey guys, im new to the forums here...but i have been trying to do some searching before i post my information.

Bit of a long post but i appriciate any input!

Just bought a 1992 Mitsu. GTO. I love it...got a few things to fix tho.

Im am getting the common cut out of the engine...seems to happen mostly once ive been driving the car for a bit...runs perfect sometimes...then other times it just chooses to cut out.

When it cuts out, i cannot effect the revs at all. (pumping gas, and reving with clutch in) ussually when i switch gears it fixes it self, but sometimes it will transfer to the next gear if i keep the rpms up. also the engine light will turn on and off..when this happens, if it continues the light will ussually stay on for a while.

Ive heard a million different reasons it could be with other people( from ecu to vacum tubes to intake leaks) just thought my exact situation my get a specific response.??

Getting a computer diagnositic tommorrow threw a private mechanic and if that doesnt resolve it, i will probably bite the bullet and pay the $119 to get it diagnosed at the dealer.

The only other thing this car needs is some brakes. Serious shaking a mid speed braking. Should i go stock or is there a popular brand that is proven with our cars. Looking for mid range cost...i will pay a little extra for some good stuff...but still need a deal..on a budget.

Your help is very much appriciated. i hope i can contribute myself once i get more familiar with the car!

thanks!

Check your battery terminals, they may be loose.

Is this the twin turbo?

Hi, thanks for the reply. it is a Twin turbo.

I took the car in for a computer diagnostic and it came up with the TPS sensor. Makes some sense with whats been happening. So im going to replace it and hope for the best.

Should i pick this up at the dealer or are there some good resources online??

Looking for new brake setup too. Let me know if anyone has some resources...ill have to do some more searching on here.

Try mentormitsubishi.com -- wholesale prices, but they are hit or miss with their shipping times.

If you want to go bigger your looking a couple thousand dollars.

I'd just go brembo slotted rotors
