gm has noticed that they are a little behind supercars and if you have looked at what gm is doing to the vette next year with the zr1(thats right not z06) its twin turbo 620 horse, almost complete carbon body just check it out to me thats a super car. and mitsubishi isnt even trying to become one of these people correct me if im wrong 26 years ago mitsubishi was made for rally inspired racing with the evo, thats why everything was awd. now the economy is going down hill no one is putting money towards rally gas price is up so why sell a car with 350 plus horse. oh and the evo wow   idk about you guys but the evo 9 and 8 made me so shaky after driving both of them my adrenaline was going like crazy those cars are mad fun if you can buy one and put couple grand into them you have a fun track car. mitsubishi wasnt made to go in a straight line.

EVO 8 is hands down one of the nicer cars I've had on a track.

WOW little that you know Mitsubishi is slowly dieing. they sold couple of there plants just to stay alive. They pull out of WRC for the same reason to save money. when was the last time you hear about Mitsubishi and rally in the same sentence??? maybe the Dakar rally but thats not even a big think that is cover by the FIA.

The 2009 Corvette ZR-1 is going to be added to the line-up and sell alongside the Z06 and base model. It has the same brakes from a Ferrari Enzo and FFX or something, as well as the suspension being re-designed.

As far as super cars goes, I think this one is barely reaching that level by hitting the 620 hp at $100K mark.

As for the 3G holding its own against a Corvette, I think that is pretty interesting. The next question, though obviously, is how much did he spend to get there?

By the by, ZR1 info taken from here:

For all the stupid people who say corvettes are only good in a straight line, and that euro cars will destroy them in the curves, let me set you straight on a few things.

I am tired of all you idiotic newbs saying that the GM Corvette sucks.

The C4 Corvette, especially the GS and Collectors edition will tear the hell out of any car on the road from it's time period. Don't believe me? Go look at skid pads, G-force charts, slaloms, braking distance, and every other stat under the sun. The C4 could tear up it's contemporary Ferrari 355, Ferarri 512TR, the later Ferrari 360 Lambo Countach, Porsche 928/959, and even the world record holder of the time(Jaguar XJ220) in handling. And it could destroy all of them on the strip as well if it came equipped with the LT-4 or LT-5.

The C5 Z06 Corvette is the same story. Go look at all the stats. It will beat the majority of european cars as well. It could knock out the Ferrari 360, the Lambo Diablo, and even the Porsche 996 GT3 in handling. And guess what, it will beat all them at the strip as well.

The C6 Z06 is the biggest monster of all of the vettes so far. Same story, look at the stats. It will beat out the Lambo Murcialago, the Ferrari 430, the Porsche 997 GT3, the newest Audi's.... every car on the road that is comparable bows down to the newest Z06 in both handling and speed.

You cannot count cars like the CCX, Veyron, Enzo, Mclaren, MC12, or the new Saleen as competition for this thing. But all other "great european cars"... they just PHAIL in comparison to the Corvettes.

Another thing, people say "well look at the size of the engine though." And "american cars get bad gas mileage." You do know that most ferrari's get like 16mpg, and porsches... about 20 if you are lucky. All the Corvettes mentioned can get at least 25mpg on the highway.

Learn to look at stats, watch real races, not youtube BS. You will quickly see that the Corvette has been one of the most dominate cars for the past 16 years.

your right about the vette bob, an to the fella that said the vette cant corner, uh you ever watch lemans? or any of the othe super car type races. notice how the vettes keep passing everybody?

and about the new "gtr" from nissan, the performance is effing sickness, but they should be shot for the body...its not a skyline, its a 350z with a uber ugly body-kit

all they did was basically factory make the baddest 350 z they could, make it awd and charge you out tha rectum for it. i bet if i had that extra 40,000$ it costs i could make a stock 350z just as wicked as the new gtr, i could prolly do it for half of that, lol

infact for that price, i can buy a gtr in canada, pay to have it shipped to texas, build it to 1000hp, and still have a lot of money left to pay speeding tickits and impound fees, lol

I'm tired of videos of kids in riced out hondas finding a Vette or Lambo or whatever on the highway and "racing" them when the other gut dosen't even know thier racing. Then they edit the video and show every time the other car slows down because they already won the race and they get passed by the losers. The bottom line is RACING A HONDA IS LIKE COMPETING IN THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS, EVEN IF YOU WIN YOUR'E STILL RETARDED!!!!!!

I have a video of my friends GTO 5.7 chasing down and passing a Ferrari 360.

It's pretty funny because you see the Ferrari pass him and then the GTO's @ss end just dumps and he's gone.

dannwo1, are you serious? go to youtube and look up these three videos and then tell me you think the vette or the ferrari wins more:\

honda civic hatchback vs. corvette - civic by about 2 or 3 lengths

mr2 vs. supercars - the mr2 destrys a skyline, a ferrari, 2 actual drag cars

rx7 vs. lambo - rx7 had a built twin turbo skyline engine implant and destroyed the lambo

lesson is, yes you are sort of right, there are some guys who are punks and edit their videos, but there is a huge list of real enthusiests that work hard and make their cars some of the nastiest things on the road.

Edit: small list

the rest of that "list of enthusiasts" run slower times with a huge turbo than the guys running a 14b. the list also includes anyone who has ever "built" a honda by swapping an engine
