I finally got my 97 eclipse running. I took a gamble and bought a car that wasn't running. Luckily the fix wasn't that bad. I would like your guys' opinions on how much horsepower this car can put out. (I may be missing some things as for I'm not sure what all the previous owners have done to it)

4g63T Engine (I believe its 205hp stock)
NGK Plugs and wires
New BOV
Cold air intake
Full 3" Exhaust
T28 Turbo
Walbro Fuel Pump
Ported and polished head
High boost gaskets

These are just the major things done, I'm sure there is more than this. Let me know what you think this car is capable of doing. Thanks.

ive got a question: how does the t28 compare to the 16g? i know the t25 is weaker than the 14b, but i dont know how the next step up of each of those stock turbos compares to the other.

there are 4 versions of the 16G.

1, small 16g
2, big 16g
3 EVO 3 16G, evo 3 big 16g as some people call it

The 14b can beat the T25. the t28 beat the 14b by a hair. then there is the big t28 it is comparable to the big 16G. but not the evo 3 16G

The good thing about the t28 can be a sleeper turbo and so as the 16G. So people are so hard core that they know the model # and can tell what turbo you have.

wait a minute, what you said just clicked: he almost DOUBLED the stock hp with just those upgrades? I was under the impression that you needed something comparable to a big 16g (with supporting mods) to hit the 350 mark.

or are you factoring hardcore tuning into the equation? Obviously a good tune can increase power output exponentially, so i can see his setup making 350 with a tune. What about untuned, whats a reasonable estimate for those mods without a tune?

My interest in this topic stems from my own setup. Ive got a small 16g, aftermarket MBC, fuel pump, IC and piping, and custom exhaust among other things - comparable mods i think - and i always assumed my awhp was more in the vicinity of 235 or so; though i dont know if im being too conservative or not with that estimate.

I think what attack was going for is that on a FWD he won't do any good with anything more than 350

That's not what i was trying to say. and are you putting words in my mouth ?

Here is an example. Even all people are the same from inside to outside there are the smallest of detail that make us different from each others. Thats the same with cars even they are made in the same factory the tuning for each and every car is different. Even all the supporting modes, parts and turbo are the same.

i'd say 250.

the only reason is he didn't list any tuning device or fuel upgrades other than a fuel pump. This means he will still be running stock fuel pressure with stock fuel injectors. Yea there will be more volume with the upgraded fuel pump but without any kind of fuel tuning you won't get the best benefits from the other mods

It depends on what boost you're running and how well tuned it is. If you're running full boost on the t28 (i think thats like 26 psi) i wouldn't doubt you're hitting 300 even.
