QUOTE(pimpsterbim1 @ Apr 20 2008, 10:34 AM) i am looking for a radar detector, but dont have alot to spend... so whats everyone useing, or any recomandtions.. i like in the suberbs of toledo, ohio.. we have a ton of cops.. most of my driving is on residential country road (35, should be at least 45)... so please help.. thanks! First find out what your local police use in way of radar/laser and then research units with these bands. Pick a few in your price range and read some reviews from other people who have purchased them.

if you buy a laser/radar detector get one with a ticket guarantee so that if you get a ticket the company you bought it from will pay for the ticket. i had a friends get one and then got pulled over doing 135 in 75 zone that was changed down to 45 for construction. he got caught at 2 am doing 3 times the posted limit in a construction zone now even though in a construction zone the ticket is doubled your points on your record only get wreckless driving ticket points his ticket was something like $400+ and the radar detector company paid every single cent.
now if your looking for real protection buy a fazar, its a Laser/Radar jamming unit. also buy a laser/radar detector as well. that way if you don't notice the cop until its too late you can slow down then kick off your fazar and let the cop clock you, just make sure your fazar is hidden away so the police officer can't see it. if they see it you could get into even more trouble because they are illegal. now a jerk cop will take it away and give you a ticket but a kind of cool cop will just take it away and tell you that they are illegal.
now i don't condone you to break the law by driving 130 everywhere you go, but if your late for work and you need to drive 90 in a 65 zone a fazar would be a decent idea for you to own.
