Hi there,
Newbie Alidocious here. I have a 94 3000gt; had the crankshaft seall replaced last year around this same time, and just recently again. Took to back yard mechanic first time, and dealer just this past time. That was about 2 weeks ago. They also replaced the PCV valve, 1 valve cover gasket, crankshaft seal, and camshaft seal.
WELL, guess what?? It started leaking again 3 days after I got it out of the shop. Typically, this leak is very bad, to the point where my neighbors can follow the leak right to my driveway. It is just as bad as when I took it to either place at either time. I just spoke to the dealer, and he informed me that TOO MUCH PRESSURE is building up in the engine, thus blowing out the seal. I did some thinking and remembered that I replaced the OEM oil filler cap with one from an auto store (probably not OEM). Maybe that is causing it to leak. BUT, why so quickly??

Has anyone ever heard of such a thing, and also possibly provide a solution or any suggestions??

Thanks for your help----
Alidocious

Just talked to the dealership again; they said that it may be that the head gasket has gone bad and want $800 to tear it down and check. I suggested to check the oil pump/sending unit(s), and said they would. Also, said it's not the aftermarket oil filler cap. Go figure. I do know that I have spent $2400 over a 1 year period trying to get the leak fixed....permanently. I have been running 5w-30 for the winter; normally run 10w-30.
Again, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The seals are bad chances are the shop didn't lube them before they put them in.
