Folks,
I'm thinking about getting the above for my wife. We've outgrown her VW Polo hatchback since our little princess arrived. The car I'm looking at is a 2004 1.3 Petrol with 54k on the clock.

Anything in particular I should be checking for ? Advice appreciated.

Thanks.

1.3 petrol on a 2004 plate..?? they didnt produce a carisma 1.3 on a 2004 plate, but maybe you are mistaken and its the ever reliable 1.6 engine bullet proof just check the timing belt has been done .. if not get it done

I have exactly this car, 1.3 petrol engine (4G13) (Greece).
Even though engine seems small for the car, it can cover most of your needs w/o any problems.

Bought on early 2004, with 55k kilometers on the clock, but I have treated it with respect.

I am very satisfied with the car. Nothing at all to report. Engine is running fine, consumption is very low (5.5 - 6.2 l/100km on the highway, 7.0-8.5 urban), and the car still gives the impression of (almost) new, the ride is comfortable, along with plenty of space in the cabin and for luggage.

Here in Greece, Mitsubishi was giving 7 years warranty (now it is 10 years), but with oil changes every 7,500km and normal maintenance every 15k kms; However, Idid not have to use it so far (except a change of the drivers' power window switch/panel ; took them 1 min to replace it at no cost)

I think both you and your wife will be satisfied with this car.

Let me know if you need any other details.

ok the 1.3 on a 2004 plate must not have been a UK model.... tho i expect it would feel very underpowered
