I just got a 95 Galant w/ 130k miles on it. It runs great & is fun to drive. Though I have a few odd quirks with my car. The previous owner had the car for basically its entire life (110k+ miles) as his daily driver. It has decals on it ("Mitsubishi Racing" and more) and he had rims on it but slapped on the stock steels w/o hubcaps before he traded it in - mostly for looks but it does give a slight hint to what else he did to the car.
I've done aftermarket stereos, amp & subs before (4GA through a 90 Olds Cutlass Calais which was so-so and then through a 91 Camry which was dead simple) so I'm familiar with basic wiring and such before getting this car.
The stereo....
He, the P/O, put in a head unit (Sony CDX-CA720) w/ a multi-disc cd changer (Poineer).
He had a 4 channel amp & a second amp hooked up w/ new wiring for the interior speakers (Doors & Deck w/ a possible set in the dash) for the 4 channel. However the wiring for this is like a small red,
8GA or less, wire from the battery through a tiny hole which led to the interior then back to the trunk. Okay simple right?
So whats the second red kinda thin wire that was jammed into the moonroof fuse (fuse box in the interior near the driver door) and runs back to the trunk doing? Is it supposed to be setup to use the 2x power sources going to the 1x power source on the amp? Do I "double up" the lines onto the 1x power source for the amp?
I googled a basic system diagram and then modified it to suit my situation. The amps & sub aren't there anymore but I'm getting some asap...

Also is the the only way to get a 4GA+ wire through from the battery to the trunk is by going through the soft foamy material around the steering column? Or can I just take off a wheel well cover & slip it through a gromet to the interior?
Thanks....
