I think the situation surrounding this topic speaks for itself. My 1992 Eagle Talon's battery died, and i dont know if its the battery itself or the alternator. Obviously im hoping for the former. Anyway, im wondering what kind of battery (specifically) these cars have, itll be my first time replacing it. Im also wondering how much a new alternator would be, if that turns out to be the problem. Thanks for the help

Well, do not buy an everready or what ever its called.

Your looking at 200 - 400 for this depending on how you do it.

You can probably find a a reman alt for around $100

And a decent battery is gonna run you about $100

If you can find a volt meter and jump start your car let it run for a while, fully warmed up. Then test the battery. Its not 14.1 volts something is wrong.

im glad remanufactured alts are so cheap, but im afraid im not big on mechanics >_> I doubt i could install an alternator unless doing so is very easy. The auto place says itd be about 300 for a new alternator, that, of course, would be a last resort. Im gonna try and jump it tomorrow probably, and see if its the battery or the alternator. If i jump it, and after removing the cables the car stays on, then its the battery, yes? But if it stalls when i take them off, its the alternator? Im told thats the easiest way to tell. By the way, what batteries would you recommend? $100 seems like an awful lot for a battery
