2003 lancer es with a 4 cylinder 2.0L L4 F1 engine. I had a compression check done by a mechanic and was told the compression was 148 to 150 for all cylinders. The mechanic told me the compression range minimum for this model is 170. I have been trying to get the manufacturers specs but I have not been successful thusfar and I do not have the owners manual. Does anyone know what the compression specification is for this car? Is the mechanic correct? Is there a website to verify the specifications?

Thanks.

I have a subscription to www.alldatadiy.com

The standard compression value should be 234 psi, and 170 psi is the minimum limit. So, yes the mechanic is right.
