just came from a party last saturday night when this happened... while i was on my way home driving my '85 lancer, a black honda civic sir was revving beside me at the u-turn slot... maybe because of the sound of my muffler... anyways, he stayed beside me for quite some time so i decided to finally accept this guy's challenge... i tapped my horn twice then he revved so of we go... the civic quickly gained speed... hmmm... nothing surprising with that... so i downshifted to 2nd gear and floored the gas pedal... did 90kph on 2nd gear then powershifted to 3rd gear... caught the mofo instantly... stayed beside him for a bit then floored the gas pedal again... powershifted to 4th gear then he was eating smoke behind me... just when i was about to have fun, the civic honked twice then signalled to turn right... he needed to take the next exit so we had to stop the race... awww... too bad... hahaha... i really hate it when people underestimate my car... fine, it's an oldschool but what happened to the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" right? btw, my '85 lancer's set-up is just simple... stock 4g32 engine, solex twin carb, 4:1 headers, scabbed straight pipe muffler, & a 4g63 close-ratio tranny... & i was running on "17 rims... maybe it would have been more fun if i had my "13's on... hehehe....
