Just wondering if anyone has thought of doing this and if they've done any research on it?

Whats the difference in mounting the tranny (if they are different) and other parts needed? such as a transfer case and axles?

I wanted to do this conversion, but need to know the difference.

everything is different. trans, PCM, rear suspension, front suspension... everything is different in a minor or major way.

its silly to even contemplate such a swap. it would cost double the actual cost of just buying an already AWD outlander.

Just wanted to see the difference really. I dont think I'll be touching it for awhile since its still new and under warrenty(sp?)

Of course its just easier to buy a car that is already equipped with it. But I wanted to see if anyone had done research on it or what the difference was (which was my main objective, to know what the differences were).

Obviously not to many have even looked into it and probably will never do it. I'm new to the outlander, but I've worked on other mitsu's before and I know a couple of guys that have converted their fwd eclipse to awd.

I was just interested since it seems their isnt much, atleast from this site and the others, about the outlander.

Again, I come from a background with modifying imports, so just outta curiousity I'd ask. I question alot of builds out there, but its not my money to play with and the process of building something outta nothing is always an amazing feat.
People spend as much on building car to changing it around.

Outy - thanks for the info... what else do you have for info? I cant find anything out there on the 06 outlander.
