After reading the full test on the ralliart....

Well, my interest is still there, cause the lancer is quite slow, especially on take-offs, and more important with people on board is superbly slow.

But it has gotten quite expensive, pretty much $30K and poorer perfomance regarding lateral grip and braking, so to improve on this aspects we all are forced to buy replacement tires, grippier, like the one that comes on the evo X.

So, mitsu is making us work harder to get a good car, how come all the engineers and time they spent didnt notice the poorer perfomance of this versus the stock GTS. Too bad.

So, the mission is gonna be, where to buy evo X wider tires and wheels for a good price?! Are they gonna fit the ralliart?

hey all, new to the Mitsubishi world and just hanging out reading up on the lancer family, 'cos that'll be the car I get next, I like the ralliart over the GTS for it's performance and for it's price compared to the EVO X.

But my big concern is how the twin clutch sportonic transmission will actually feel and perform.

Does anyone know if it'll be a true sportronic transmission without the use of a torque converter or will actually have twin clutches and behave similar to a manual transmisison but with obviously faster shifting 'ala the kind porsche invented?

I'm a manual transmission guy and hate these fake "tiptronic" transmisisons that many manufacturers use.

i watched a video review on edmunds.com about the new ralliart and apparently, its a car built to drive aggressively on the road, not on a track. they said the clutch is kind of slow to kick in. i forget everything they said but overall it was rated as an excellent transition from the GTS to EVO. AWD 237hp nicer body than the base lancers... should be worth the money, unless u plan on buying a good track car like the EVO. personally, if you had that much money i would go for something else as you can get better performing and more comfortable rides in that price range (used but still fairly new but thats just me personally).

thanks I'll check out the video, I'm not looking for a track car and also I couldn't afford the price tag of the EVO. Plus like you say if I could afford the EVO price tag I would be considering slightly older alternatives.

It'll all come down to 2 things.....how the clutch and transmission feel, and also what the price tag will be up in Canada. It's ridiculous how much they add on up here, the GTS up here with sun and sound package is 27K! With the dollar almost the same the US version is 6K cheaper!

Thanks again for the info, I'll be sure to check out the review.

It will be comming in a stick... just cause everyone is not as privilaged as you, knowing how to drive a stick and all.
Mitsubishi has decided to fit the Twin Clutch-SST transmission, pulled from the Evo X MR. The TC-SST clicks off the shifts through a set of steering wheel mounted paddles and sends power to a full-time all-wheel-drive system equipped with Mitsubishi's Active Center Differential (ACD).
you can get the same 4B11T/C engine (equipped with a smaller turbo) sending 237 hp and 253 lb.-ft. of torque to a modified version of the Evo IX's all-wheel-drive setup.

Also they are not out yet, at least not in the US. It could have been a test car, or just some noob sticking ralliart stickers on his n/a. Next time post a picture and I'll believe it when I see it.
According to an Autoweek scribe attending the Ralliart's press launch, the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart will arrive in showrooms this September with a price tag under $27,000
Its not whats pictured on the outside that counts, its whats under the hood that makes it a ralliart.

lol actually the gas milage law goes into effect on all cars made in 2015 so just avoid those because they are required by law to have 40 mpg and emissions have to be super low ..(sorry dont have the actual law) .. i saw i at the DC auto show .... so yea get your EVOs before 2015 :57:

Sorry to break it to you...

Believe it dude.

I don't understand the supply/demand either, but like I said I've seen them rollin.

All the ones I've seen seem pretty new tho, cuz they haven't even tinted their windows yet.

:57:
They still haven't listed it on their site last I checked....

It took them awhile to list the EVO once it came out....

Talk to the dealer.

I'll be inquiring about the RalliArt taillights when I go in for an oil change.
The price will likely be ridiculous tho. I had the headlights replaced (under warranty) the paperwork total was $960.

I know ya'll have moved off the topic, but this photo looks awfully photoshopped to me. Has anyone actually seen this concept in person? The only concepts I have seen have been close if not exactly the production ralliart.

Well as I stated in another post...I just got my Sept. 2008 Car & Driver in the mail.

Here is what they say about the Ralliarts performance:

0-60: 5.5
0-100: 15.2
0-130: 36.5....isn't that the same time as the GTS in the 1/4 w/ CVT
Street Start 5-60: 6.2
1/4 Mile: 14.3 @ 97mph
Top Speed (governor limited) 130mph
Braking 70-0: 184'
Roadhandling 200-ft-dia-skidpad: dismal 0.80 (better tires would really help!)

Fuel Economy: City: 17
Observed: 16

Not bad....just think what this little puppy could do with an intake, exhaust, tune, pulley, headers & better tires! Should be a really fun car!

The wheels have me scratchin my head.......couldn't Mitsu come up with something different for the Ralliart...I mean come on.......At least put some 225 or 235's on there. Maybe a half of an inch wider rims. Have the EVO brakes at least as an option.

This all really makes me wonder if for 2010 or 2011, if Mitsu isn't going to put a turbo'd 2.4 under the hood. Only time will tell. I just would hate to buy the Ralliart to find out that next year they are upgrading the motor.....sounds familiar 2008 GTS owners...huh??!!

Also I wish that they would add heated mirrors & seats..along with a leather option.

I see that the Ralliart has optional seats...the Recaro's...but I wonder if they are the same as the ones in the EVO...if so, I didn't like them at all. Didn't feel right for my body....I like an adjustable headrest...plus I wish they would add adjustable lumbar! Hey Mitsu....are you reading this???!!!!!!!!!!! Get wit da program!

I got bucks.....make it & I'll buy it!
