I have been told I need to replace an 02 senser on my 03 Galant. Here is the problem, I know their is a way to get the code from the "key dance". I don't know how to do this, and how many 02 sensers are on this car? I would like to hear any and all info. Thanks!

first it depends on your engine. if you have the 2.4L 4 cylinder you have 2 O2 sensors. if you have the 3.0L V6 i think they have 3. anyways. take your car into autozone, or checker/kragen, or pepboys, or any other large auto parts store they have the scantools to figure out whats wrong with your car.

it will give you a code and then they can look up the code in their computer and tell you what it says. then they can offer part replacements for the problem. if you have a faulty O2 sensor you will have a check engine light on. if you don't have a check engine light on then you have a mechanical problem that is not attached to a electrical sensor.

either way you can figure it out quite quick if you just have them scan your car codes for you.

Thanks for the info, but I thought there was a way to toggle the ignition, back and forth, and you would be able to read a code on the dash. Any ideas how that works?
