Just wondering if any GTS owners here use ES alloys with snow tires for the winter? I know winter is a long way off (thankfully) but I'm looking at my really nice 18" GTS alloys with performance tires and I'm questioning the wisdom of running them in the upstate NY winter. The tires for the 16" ES wheels (P205/60/16) are a lot less expensive than the GTS 18 inchers and more easily obtained, and would almost certainly improve the Lancer's winter performance. Now that I traded my Jeep Cherokee 4WD and my wife won't ever give up her Montero Sport AWD, I've only got my GTS for commuting all year.

Money aside, is there any reason NOT to buy a set of ES alloys and snow tires for winter, and run the stock GTS wheels/tires Spring, Summer and Fall only?

Hmmm, good point on the brake clearance, wanabeEvo. The only part that makes me question that reasoning is that: 1) supposedly the Lancer GTS has the same brakes as the Outlander, and 2) the Outlander appears to have the same 16" alloys as the Lancer ES. Are either of those points incorrect?
