Hi guys, hopefully someone has done this job and can give me some pointers. I need to change the clutch in my 99 Montero Sport. It is an ES model with a 4 cyl engine and a manual trans.
When the car is in Neutral, it whines like nobodys business, when you push the clutch, it stops. It sounds like the Release Bearing whining.
I need to change the clutch and am aware of the fact that you have to pull the trans out of the car, the thing i am wondering about is the clutch lever/hydraulic clutch control on the outside of the trans. Whats up with that? How do I remove it without losing all the fluid?
alos, I have changed clutchs on many older model vehicles, what should i expect when the trans comes off? Is it pretty much straight forward like any other clutch or will there be something unexpectd.
Lasty, I also need to change the anti-vibration bearing that is halfway down the driveshaft, the rubber is cracked and broken and the car shudders at 70 - 75 mph. How is that job? Hard to do? it looks pretty straight forward.
Thanks in advance, I really hope someone can help me out here.
