I am new to modding cars and don't really know much but am learning along the way. I am starting off small and want to change out the intake on my 92 vr4. Are there certain companies that make specific kits for my car? Would replacing the filter itself be beneficial or should the intake tubing be replaced as well? Thanks for the help.

It is pointless to put a CAI on a turbocharged car, that's why you have an intercooler.

There is a company that makes a short ram for your car though. Just look on ebay, I'm sure you'll find one. When you do, post back so other members can make sure you have found one that actually fits.

And yes, replacing the filter with a cone is slightly beneficial. You don't NEED to replace the tubing, it's just better if you do.

Here is my custom set up. It's not so much cold air INDUCTION, but more a cold air BOX.

Hope that is helpful. There is a company on 3si.org that makes these, but different to mine as it was made in Australia.

Thanks a lot for your help. Here is a link to two short ram intakes i found on ebay. Does anyone know if these are any good or even the type of intake i should be looking at?

Basicaly take your air box out buy a K&N filter and an adaptor plate for the maf, and call it a day.

Those ebay pipes are just hard versions of your stock Y pipe.

On mostly stock cars the stock Y pipe will be fine.

^^Those go from the filter bubble to the turbos

I make them! made in fibreglass complete with fixings the scoop is built in, the only mod is you have to cut away alittle bit on the inner skin on the air filter side of the bonnet for fitment, I'll post up some shots tomorrow
