I have a '91 3kgt vr4 and for some reason, when i start it most of the time it dies when i try to go. I have no idea why. At first i thought that i might have a shot alternator and my battery was shot but i checked that and it was fine. I am not stalling the car out either. I have no idea whats wrong with it and was lookin for some advice. Thanks.

Check all your intake piping, could be a serious boost leak.

If you have a pressure tester do a pressure test.

If you don't and you live near Jersey I can help you out.

Turn key to ACC and wait a couple seconds then start.

Sounds like its your fuel pump.

It all depends, on these models , most of teh until 1994 models the fuel pump onlee operated during engine cycle and not pulese for 8 seconds with key on. I could be wrong on this model, but as far as i kno , most of them til 1993 Galant GSX,VR-4,3000GT,GTO especially the pump onlee worked during engine cycle. On many older Galant VR-4 and GTO's I have seen especiallt on older V6 VR4 Galants after years and heat the piping leaving teh AFM would come loose and or crack , just as hoses going to the charge air coolers causing charge air losse or improper AFM readings , the AFM on many VR4 models run in sync with the fuel pump relay/module.

I had the the same problem with my 3000GT SL... the car died when I just start it or put it in reverse (when it is cold only). The quick fix would be to increase your RPMs revolutions higher at nutural. Just twist the screw. It worked for my car. I herd that this is usally a problem with air intake being dirty. My friend was telling me about that just the other day. He said he cleaned something in air intake manifold. I am not sure what he cleaned, but I can find out if you still have the problem.

My friend said he cleaned throttle body (butterfly volve) with a carburatore cleaner and the car ran like new.
