My compass/temp on pjero 1996 model is malfunctioning and it doesn't display anything. I later found out that a resistor was busted labeled as R12. My problem is that, I can no longer read the color code of the resistor. I need help from forumers who tried opening their e-temp/compass.

Attached is a photo of the compass and the internal part for reference.Attached ImageAttached Image

 I got my compass and temperature gauge all working... I have also replaced busted bulb on the compass... I did some trial and error method on the value or the resistor and a lot of pure LUCK. :)

hey dude, i also got the same problem but mine is that even the lights are not working! i pulled out the bulb but it is not busted! now, my hypothesis is that it may be supply problem or the compass itself has problems! man, i want that to function again

You have to replace the leaking capacitors and see if the unit will work again. Much same in others with electronic compass. Good luck and update us for your repair job.

replace the leaking capacitors

Not a hard job to do, just need a soldering iron and some patience. Get the number off the side of the cap and get a replacement at your local electronic store. Make sure whan installing you face the correct way +/- . Mark your old one before you remove to be sure as neg side will have a stripe down the side..
