I need a little bit of advice from anyone that has replaced the clutch in a '91 3000Gt vr4! What is the best way to drop the tranny out, and little tips would help me out a bunch! I mean ive done plenty of hondas, nissans and lots of old school muscle so i have lots of mechanical beackground, but am a little lost with this one and could use a little help!!! Thank you very much!!!

well.... lets see.

1. Remove axels
2. Unbolt tranny
3. remove plate covering clutch
4. remove clutch
5. install new clutch
6. put plate back on
7. rebolt tranny
8. install axels.

Strange "mechanical background" you've got here man.

once everthing has been removed, make sure the car is raised on axle stands high enough to pull the transmission from under the car, when you are ready to pull the tranny from the engine, use a small hoist and nylon rope to lower the tranny from above, I have taken quite a few out over the years and this is the easiest way to do it, same goes for installation.

Once you put the car on a lift and look up You'll see what needs to move.

If you've done transmission before there is very little difference.

First id like to thank enigma48 for his very helpful advice! And second bobthecow ive been turning wrenches since before you even knew you had a ****! I build American muscle not this jap stuff, i mean its cool but not for me, and this was to help a friend out, which by the way his engine just caught on fire yesterday so we wont be putting in a new clutch cause it smoked the front end of the car!!!!

Bro, you pull the axles out, un bolt and it falls down. Its like any other transmission.

And watch who you talk to like that.

And if you did a search you would have found at least 3 complete write ups for this.

If you had been turning wrenches that long, you'd know how to drop a tranny out of a car.

I call BS on you.
