I know this is probably been answered before but I' m in need of advice and help!!!

I have a 95 mitsi diamante 2.5ltr v6 and it has a problem. The car will not idle when it reaches normal driving temperatures. It is able to start easily and is able to idle until it warms up. Please if anyone has any ideas or has prior knowledge of this problem please advise.

Thanks in advance!!!!

I have seen a few of these cars with this issue , more on the Galant with 2.5 liter, i had a 94 Galant GSR with this issue when cold would idle up perfect and then idle down as warmed up , but when it was correct operating temperatures , especially when coming to a stop it would die , id restart and it die again onless on the gas slightlly. On these models it was the ISCV idle speed control valve , it would have issues varying in small incriments , like when the a/c was on and at regular temps. My 1990 VR4 had same issue. Yu can take off the intake pipe at teh throttle and attempt to clean teh port out and see if that helps, but in all cases i replaced the ISCV

So is this the same as the idle speed control motor (stepper motor) or is this a valve a different part all together? Is it easy enough to get to and remove?

Thanx

Its all basically teh same thing , just depends , one on DOCH engines especially older DOCH 4 and 6 cylinders , teh design has changed . They were motorized valve types for fast reaction , and the SOCH engines had a plunger type valve , on older DOCH VR4 and other DOCH 4cyl especially yu can hear then click when yu ignition on.

The valve should not be hard to find. Look for 2.5 and 3.0 model mitsubishi, like Space Runner, um Diamante etc. But yu have to make sure they have a variable resinance intake manifold. Sum people call it a variable length/variable flow, the 2.5 and 3.0 some models and also GTO use this type of intake manifold. It is easilly distinguished by the motor looking assembly on the right side of the intake manifold. also where it says 2500 /3000 / DOCH 24 on teh upper portion yu see it splits into sections that is a way to tell its variable resinance . Removing isnt that bad , to most , the best way is to remove the whole throttle body unit from the upper intake manifold , there are (4) 12mm nuts and 2 coolant bypass hoses underneat that need to be disconnected as well as the TP sensor wire and throttle cable and ISCV plug in and the air ducting

Thanks for that have gotten a ISC and have installed into the car but the now the car is idling high and intermitently so does the ISC have to be adjusted or are they supposed to be a bolt on part that is replaced and ready to go?

Its bolt on , but yu have to use the gasket for it also , if yu removed the old one and havent replaced the gasket , the gasket couild have broken in certain areas and between the 2 air sections its leaking air between the 2 air pic up sections
