I purchased a 1997 registered Mitsubshi carisma 1.8 GLX 16V recently. It was advertised as being a GDI. However when I look at the engine it does not say GDI on it which I thought it would. Also I have read that the GDI was introduced in Oct 1997 which would make it an R reg. My car is a P reg so I think it must have been produced before the GDI was introduced. Can anyone help?

have you looked on your log book V5 ? this will tell you what model it is.
