QUOTE(Mitsu_Fizzle @ Jun 25 2008, 12:27 PM) meh.... still no brackets. And I'm getting a vibrating ticking sound from where the GReddy and the stock pipe meet. But its either that.... or the let my bumper melt away. But... I'm impatient.... PRobably put my stock back on and sell the GReddy if there is nothing in the happening few weeks. This BLOWS!!!! <_< I contacted GReddy yesterday. Here is the IM MisterStrike2008 (5:40:46 PM): I was wondering if there is a status on the new hangers for the older exhausts for the 2008 lancer to solve the melting issue, can you help? Greddy tech 2 returned at 5:45:15 PM. Greddy tech 2 (5:46:51 PM): should be within the next 2 weeks. Greddy tech 2 (5:46:58 PM): are you currently on the list for it. MisterStrike2008 (5:55:56 PM): I should be, I contacted Mitch quite a while ago by phone. Greddy tech 2 (6:09:16 PM): whats the name i can check for u MisterStrike2008 (6:19:06 PM): (My Real Name) MisterStrike2008 (6:19:24 PM): (My Address) Greddy tech 2 (6:20:32 PM): ya you are on there MisterStrike2008 (6:21:33 PM): Awesome! Thank you for your help! Greddy tech 2 (6:22:06 PM): no problem

Well... with all the talk of the new exhausts being out and that we should see our hangers soon I decided to attach the middle hanger back on to my car yesterday. ( I had attached on the exhaust but tucked under the stub connected to the car to space it out more ) I figured it would be here in a matter of days and it wouldn't do any real harm to my car. I actually figured it would be more risky for me to continue driving w/ only 2 hangers attached WRONG!!! (IMG: http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s1/BeigalBeigal/GReddySucks.jpg) My bumper is now destroyed. I will have to seek advice on how to fix this. My friends (who own this exhaust) the fix is out there.... its called "A DIFFERENT BRAND" The worst thing is I wont be able to uninstall until the weekend, so it will be deeper fried by then. Thanks GReddy!! Great Product and A+ customer service... Start selling the new stuff before you correct your first mistake and make things right w/ your loyal customers who are in need. I hope you all get your extensions and don't go thru this but... you probably wont. They have forgotten you and don't give a $hit because they've got your money already.... like every other business. No accountability.

Fizz, don't wait until the weekend. Squeeze out any time you have to get that thing OFF! More damage is not going to help you in any way, shape, or form. As for repairing it, you have one of two options... 1.) Cover up the damage with a CF exhaust lip from RRM or a rear diffuser. 2.) Replace the entire bumper. Depending on your options (and available cash), the decision is ultimately yours. DKTRL might be able to get you a good price on the bumper replacement or even the diffuser.

I got a friend that owns a bodyshop, I plan on speaking to him about it, but he lives in Orlando and I'm currently in a small country town about 50 miles away. I already have him getting me paint for some things inside my engine, I guess I'll have him get me more. Along with a new bumper, depending on how much it costs. Unfortunately, I dont have the means to get it off my car myself... Although I may go to a muffler shop and just have them switch me back to the stock... Depends how much they charge. I just rigged it up w/ foil velcro'd to the bumper for now, I believe it will hold me down for a bit. The sad thing for ppl who still have this problem (1st gen) is the R&D for the fix was probably done on another Cali Lancer, which is probably why this problem exists. So we may be seeing the return of this on the new one, for those of us who do not own a cali lancer.

Yet another reason for me to continue to hate California! But the thing is... isn't this an AB exhaust? Would the flanges in the back really make that much of a difference?

I really dont know, but I dont think any Cali ppls have had an issue w/ this, but.... those of us outside Cali have, so I'm thinking they should venture out of there comfy spot to see why outside Cali ppl are the ones w/ this issue, ya know?
Doesn't matter anyway... I destroyed my bumper w/ their product and they would rather sell to the next person (with the update they already have fixed) than rectify the situation with the test dummies that decided to purchase their crap 1st believing the name GReddy on an exhaust actually meant a quality product.
Meanwhile... they just string us along...
The extensions will be to you in a few weeks.... as soon as we get them in, we will send them to you.... blah, blah, blah.
I think I will take a sledgehammer to this thing once is off & mail it to them.

Not to me though... I hate the sound it makes. EDIT: I just noticed GPP-RD's sig... "GReddy, Performance you can TRUST" So much for that, ey Fizz?

QUOTE(freakingwilly @ Jul 12 2008, 12:01 AM) "GReddy, Performance you can TRUST" So much for that, ey Fizz? Precisely. They were a trusted name for a while, but.... You cant always rely on the past acheivements. You gotta keep consistantcy to keep your name good. Look at this situation. They knew the product they sold was defective. They did a new R&D. And then what? They start selling the fixed product, but leave the ppl (original ginnea pigs) who bought the 1st one w/ the defect hung out to dry. "GReddy, If our products are defective... you're S.O.L. --- but we will string you along, at no additional cost" I think this is closer to their motto.
