the problem you are describing is called BOOST. unfortunately, its a very costly addiction and very expensive when you want to get more of it. If you arent careful, boost will destroy your engine or send your car spinning into a tree; and youll be hard pressed to get more than 20 mpg when your in it.

on the plus side, it is more fun than sex.

EDIT: ****, i missed the part where he described it in a manner that DIDNT make it sound like normal boosting.

it sounds to me like you have a simple boost leak. if you feel the boost kicking in, then all of a sudden your car lurches and you lose all power, thats a boost leak. if it bogs down in boost, and not when driving normally, thats more than likely a boost leak, but could also be a dying turbo or fuel related problems. Do you notice any smoke or anything like that when/after hard acceleration. if not, im saying its a boost leak. check all your intercooler piping for loose connections, cracks, or holes. the stock blow off valve is a common leak point, so checking that might be a good start. seriously, there are a LOT of places boost can leak from :/

You hear a swish and then the boost gauge pegs at the top. That is normal.

If it jerks violently then you have a boost leak

If it stutters you have to replace the wires.

If you don't believe me I'll give you 1000 for your car.
