as the title says..i want a freakin supercharger.

turbo is just out of the question..too much money, too many problems, and i have cvt :(
turbo is also too unpredictable and is not good for a daily driver.

soo i figured id start a post to see if anyone else out there would support the idea of a supercharger.
i know there are vendors that surf the forums and im not sure how to go about recommending/convincing them into making a bolt on supercharger for our car. i mean it cant be but so hard. scion has done it for the tc's and i think its a great idea, its reliable, great source of power..it cant be used w/auto or manual..theres plenty of reasons..i could go on forever but basically the idea is HOW DO WE GET VENDORS TO R&D A SUPERCHARGER for our 08 lancers????? anyone who knows anything please share lol

That would be nice, I would assume from the power produced by a supercharger as apposed to a turbo the CVT transmissions should be able to handle it better.

I would def perfer one over a turbo because it's way more stable for use as a daily driver. Also, seems easier to install and maintain for the novice tuner.

So let me get this right, even the internals can remain stock because the supercharger keeps the engine in spec?

Should e-mail RRM and see what they say. If they made a turbo, why not a supercharger?

i would e-mail rrm but i dont think one person is going to make a difference.
we need mass support for this to get someone to make one..and to tell ya the truth i would much rather e-mail someone like speedcorps before rrm. rrm claims too much from their products and after having a few of them im not too fond of their quality standards.
but the best way would probly be to just email every vendor on the forums or just every vendor that makes parts for mitsu. and see what we can get.
possibly since the turbo is for manual RRM might wanna make a supercharger for CVT?? idk but at this point idc who it comes from i just want one..because honestly if i cant get one soon...im going to be trading in my car. im payin way too much on insurance alone for way too little performance. :(

I have to agree! What were you driving before? A ferrari? lol.

But anyway... supercharger.... i'm all for the idea, but I don't think there is ever going to be enough people for them to R&D one. I'm still a fan of the turbo, there is no subsitute for that but ah well its easy to install, and if you're not too familliar with cars I guess its the way to go.

I like the idea of forced induction but the cost and major decrease in mileage is what turns me off. For now at least, because "I'm a stinking poor college student!"

317 a month?! That's way more than what I pay O_o. I have to pay $1400 for every 6 months.

most def. lol i mean its always a possibility that some vendor might pick up the idea and try it..but idk its a long shot..

i really started this post for people who might have some know how on going about getting a supercharger R&D'd but i guess no one knows?? i mean im glad im not the only one but i was hoping for someone to have some kinda connection to a vendor or sumthin. because i highly doubt one e-mail from jo-shmo is gonna make any kind of difference.

317 a month that crazy man, i'm in Canada i pay 110 a month!!! for full coverage. But on the supercharger topic a turbo is still more efficient because it uses the exhaust gas instead of a belt , i could be wrong but can a supercharger even work in a lancer, doesn't it have to be be driven off the main pulley. Is there enough room on the pulley side of engine bay? I'm just guessing? that would be cool if it could fit.

I would rather have a turbo than supercharger, I guess I feel like the performance of a turbo is a little bit better than a supercharger.

Little is an understatement. Turbos will always give better performance over superchargers. Superchargers run off the belts, so they are always active. No matter how lightly you drive, they are always running and eating your gas. Turbos kick in at certain RPMs, so you can actually maintain your normal city MPG and still have the option to go AWOL down the track.

*AWOL = Acting WithOut Logic (yes I know it also means Absent WithOut Leave, but I like mine better  )
