If I got the Navi on the optional exquipment do I still have the CD changer. I can't figure out how to change CD's or if I even have the CD changer.

Also has anyone noticed the input jack on the bottom of the navi screen when you open it. is that a AUX input? and if it is how would one plug something in there and close the screen? I would guess that it's some sort of connection for an update or maintaince that the dealer would use.

If you have a Lancer with the factory navigation unit, then you do not have a 6-disc CD changer. You only have the single-disc CD/DVD player that is behind the touch screen.

The port that you see on the bottom of the touch screen (when it is open for loading CDs) is, like you guessed, for maintenance and updates only. The input (RCA type) for using an external device like an MP3 player is located in front of the transmission gear shift, behind the ash tray and covered by a flip up cap that says "AUX".

Thanks, I figured the changer was replaced by the Navi system, it was the window sticker that confuse me.

That's what I thought, I wasn't sure if I could use the aux rca jacks for my Ipod or not since I know the video playback stops when the car is in motion. Looks like I'll have to pick up the rca jacks for my Ipod now. Thanks man.

If you have the Navi then you have something far greater than a 6 CD changer, You have a HD that will hold 100 plus CD's worth of songs.

When you insert a CD into the player look at the top left hand side of the screen. You will see a recording process indicator. Once that reaches 100% (about 1/4 of the way through playback) the contents of the CD has been saved to your music server (accessed through the main menu).

Yea, I knew about the HD, and the CD recording, that's why i thought it was funny that they would combine that with a changer. My AUX input infront of the shifter says video as well, does any one have confirmation that a Ipod could be hooked up to those jacks and play audio while driving?

yea you can use the rca jack for your ipod. youll just point to the aux mode on the touch screen and it will say that you cant view it while driving but the audio will still play. i just put my navi on so its not as annoying. but you can def use that for your ipod!!

If u get the navi upgrade make sure u still get the 6 disc changer, because u paid for it. I recieved mine after upgrading to the navi. Just ask for it and they will give it to u once u pick up ur car.

Really? I've already been driving the car, they had it on the lot when i bought it. I'll have to call them and see what the story is.
