Hi everyone! Bought my new 09 Lancer GTS with S&S for 27000. I'm picking it up today after work and I'm PSYCHED!!!
Was reading through a bunch of reviews before I bought it and I must say, there are some very unflattering comments made by auto "experts". It took me about 2 mins of a test drive to decide the Lancer is for me. Not sure why alot of reviewers are giving the Lancer such a hard time. The main complaint I read is that the interior quality of the car is sub par. Personally I think the GTS has a very good setup inside. ES, DE not so much. Test drove the Mazda3 and corolla...not even close. The Mazda was fun to drive, but outpriced itself once I started adding options.
Anywho, just wanted to say hi and I'll post as soon as I have scrutinized every inch of my new Lancer.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you like your car and congrats on it. I just cant see myself paying 27K for a compact 4banger.. I was looking at 2006 Infiniti M35X AWD, loaded to the teeth with nav, bose, 18 speakers, backup camera, cool/heat seats, etc.. for 27.5K with only 20K miles.. just cant see myself giving so much for a lancer, but to each their own.
Any plans for mods?

QUOTE(J_Logik @ May 20 2008, 01:27 PM) Hope you enjoy.... it's an awesome car, and most of these critics are too well paid by the BIG car manufacturers to give favourable ratings to smaller companies like Mitsu.
How exactly is Mitsu a small company? Mitsubishi as a brand is bigger than Toyota. It's powerplans are also shared by a lot of GM, SUZUKI, and some chinese automakers. Its now owned by any of the 3 Big automakers, they sure as heck are affiliated and have close ties with Mitsu. For GM to lose mitsu, is like for Chrysler to lose Mercedes. but anyways, sorry for going offtopic.

yeah i know 27k is steep, but thats the price you pay for living in Canada. hehe. we get killed on all the accessory prices. the reason i didn't get the nav system was the 3 grand price tag. I believe in the states it's around 1700 no?

I just bought my 2009 Lancer GTS with cvt & the sun & sound package for $21500 + $1290 in sales tax for a grand total of $22790. That's here in Arkansas. Sorry to here that they over price it in Canada. The exchange rate is pretty close to 1 for 1 right now, so I think they could have come down some on the price. Unless that 27K is after taxes & finance charges. I think they wanted $2000 more for the Nav package here. But I'm sure you could talk them down on it some.

Unfortunately, 27k is before taxes. However, all sedans in this class are around that price up here. I should've come down to the states and bought the car, but I'm really impatient haha.
Anywho, I picked up my car and it is awsome!! I am so glad I picked up this car. The Sirius is a bit flaky, but no big deal, I am having way too much fun driving!!

WOO HOO!! I just got my 09 GTS w/ CVT, NAV, S&S, everything! Got them down to 21,800 to take it off the lot. Wifey can't drive a 5 speed, so I had to forego the EVO, but she has already given permission (LOL) to slap a turbo, wheels, and EVO hood. I love the paddle shift CVT. I drove it from Kansas City, Missouri to Lawton, Oklahoma yesterday and only the last hour was uncomfortable in the seat...but that was after 7 hours of driving...love the 2.4 it has a little bit of personality. But I can't WAIT for the turbo....
ADDED: and the Fosgate sound system rocks!!!

OK so I've put just over 1000 KM on my new lancer in about a week. So far the car has been spectacular!! I get alot of looks when driving it, however, I just noticed that a guy at work has the 08 gts in white lol. But HOT DANG!!! I love this car. The fast key feature is awsome and comes in very handy. My dad took it for a spin and was taking on ramps at 80 km/h haha. The gas tank is a bit depressing at around 52 L but I got over that fast. I'll post pics soon.
