Ok, we are getting our new grey GTS S&S&L in about 11wks 21hrs.:)
got a timmer running on the comp for a few days after it is supposed to come in :)

anyway i know how to drive a car, thats about it for what i know about them LOL

first im checking on the price of the stone guard here, we have a vacation planed and we can get it done then cause we will be in Halifax,
either that or the full face bra which looks sweet to, but my neighbour said they can make it worse later cause dirt gets in around the edges and makes marks there.

I want to change the regular beam headlights to HID lights. not to say ooo im cool, but cause it looks like daylight in front of the car.
I also want to get the shark fin antanna as well, since the nose of it is based on a shark and it looks better then the RC car ref that i read here somewhere.

But I'd like to add a bit more torque and/or HP, so im wondering about the cold air intake and a new muffler. what exaclty do they do, the air intake lets more air in the engine so it works better, but how much extra does it give, and i can't find anything about the mufflers. I would want one that sounds nice and powerful low i guess not the noise crap that a lot of young people put on their cars to piss people off.

Can anyone offer suggestions, and help a stunned newfie out :)

First off welcome to the site.

Now while I am no expert on the new Lancer platform I will off some advice.

The clear stone gaurds that come standard on the new Porsches are amazing. You can even tell that they are there from 3 feet back. The standard black bra in my opinion takes away from the overall appearence but does the same thing.

Your friend who says that dirt will get in and cause issues is 100% correct but if you keep it clean I don't see you having a problem.

HID's are great lights.

As for the rest I'll leave it up to the Lancer guys.

Enjoy,

~Eric

The Injen CAI can provide you with roughly 10 HP and 11 nm of torque the intake will draw 'cold' air into the cylinders therefore giving you a better explosion or fuel burn and drive the pistons harder, there are a number of exhausts currently out for 08/09 Lancers those include the Greddy TiC, Injen SES exhaust, Works AB or muffler delete (not a great option) think of an exhaust as an exhale to your intakes inhale, these exhaust option will help the exhaust escape and provide a better note, maybe help with fuel economy and also maybe a few ponies. Personally I like the Greddy TiC exhaust it provides a nice tune not poppy at all you can check it out at www.greddy.com hopefully this helped...

i dont want both?? why would i not, since you would only use the hi beams when im not near anyone. lot of moose around here.

and thanks for the info on the intake, and exhaust. i did listen to the greddy tic online and i like it. sounds more deep then a lot of the loud ones around here. i hate those. if im going to put a aftermarket exhaust i would like it to sound like an old chevy or something :) with guts not whine i guess lol

i like the fuel economy help as well. well the fact that it might. would the air intake help with that as well? since thats cheaper i might do that first. well after the hid lights

does any of those changes affect any part of my warranty does anyone know?

Yes the intake could help on economy
Whilst both parts a said to help economy there has not been any studies done as to how much they will help you out. Yes you wont be sounding like a Honduh with the Greddy TiC its a quality product.
