I am new to these cars after working on Chevrolets almost all my life.I purchased a 93'3000GT SL in hopes of fixing it up and driving it and the problem I have now is when I first start it,I cannot touch the gas or it acts like it "floods" out and dies.it takes a few start attempts and then it starts at idle speed. As long as I let it warm up it is fine (no spuddering)
Can some one point me in the right direction on what to look for?
Thanks...Mike

Have yu checked the fuel filter? It may be a bit plugged up and there is a lack of fuel pressure on the initial start up . With these older model Mitsubishi's frum my knowledge til 92-93 depending on the model , most of them the fuel pump pulsed only on engine cycle and during engine operating and not like the later models that had a 5-8 second prime with key on.

Also did yu check if there are any air leaks in teh tubing leaving the throttle body going to the AFM? The AFM is also another key part in teh fuel pumps operation on these year models
