this should help

valve spring free length should be: 1.85in.
valve spring load should be 54lbs at installed height of 1.57in.

What height was he measuring the 74lbs?

he said there 75lbs when the valvs are all the way open and he said then the valves go to close its not enought pressure to bleed the lifters down and its just holding the valve open

thats what i thought but he said with the balenve shaft eliminator the pressure is so high its not enough pressure, my oil pressure is 95 psi and 75lbs out of the springs isnt goin to colapse a lifyer with 95 lbs of pressure in them

whoa your oil pressure shoulnd't be that high ever! There is something going on inside that is causing restriction or a manlfunctioning bleed valve. is your oil filter housing in bad shape, do you have an aftermarket oil cooler?

he needs to check the "installed" height pressure at the spring, not the "open" pressure.

well i got my head back with my new brian crower bc0100 springs and retainers and it runs great. sounds sick with full exhaust with the 70 trim turbo and stahe 3 cams but just to let eberyone know it was my springs were worn out and couldnt colaps the lifters. and the oil pressure is at 75 on start up and when warm its around 55 at idle but it runs great
