Did it, installed them, and couldn't be happier! As if the front of this car couldn't get any sicker! Now it looks gorgeous!
aftermarket, where did you install your ballasts? I had some difficulty finding a spot for my right fog light. Here's where I installed them...
Left low: In the gap to the side of the battery, where an Injen CAI tube would go. Right low: To the side of the radiator coolant. Left fog: Inside the fog lamp area, in the same spot as one of the grounding cables. Right fog: To the side of the windshield washer fluid container, against the frame. I had to pull out one of those 1/2" screws, widen the hole on the bracket, and mounted the ballast there. It hangs down and isn't very appealing :(

I think theres more than enough room in their to mount them. My question was, how did you do the wiring? So you unclip the end of the harness from the stock foglight, and clip it into the ballast or what?

QUOTE(KaranB @ Jun 14 2008, 12:01 PM) Hey freakingwilly, I've been thinking about going HID's on my fogs too. Looks like you found decent spots to mount the ballasts. I think theres more than enough room in their to mount them. My question was, how did you do the wiring? So you unclip the end of the harness from the stock foglight, and clip it into the ballast or what? You aren't supposed to use the harness from the stock electrical system to power HIDs because it puts too great of a strain on your wires and causes them to burn/melt prematurely. You are supposed to use a separate wiring harness that allows you to draw power straight from the battery. I know your kit is from MobileHID, so I know your car is fine. I bought both of my kits from MobileHID (thanks again for the tip) and they always come with a separate wiring harness. I attached the power and ground to the battery plugs (with the negative terminal unplugged :) )and I fished the some of the wiring (OEM plug and 1 ballast plug) in the gap underneath the left headlight housing. The ballast plugs go into the ballasts and the OEM plug goes into one of the OEM fog light plugs. The LONGER ballast plug is for the right fog light, so I fished this one through the top grill and let it drop down into the fog light area. Do note that I also have the Injen CAI, so my CVT oil cooler is a little further back, giving me more room to work with on the left fog light. Sticks need not apply :) But just to make mounting the ballasts a little easier, you may want to either remove the front bumper or lie down on the floor and work everything out through the fog light hole. Just make sure you find solid spots where you know the ballast will mount with NO issues. QUOTE(lonnieg3 @ Jun 13 2008, 07:17 PM) Post pics if you can, I'd like to see the final result. My sisters are coming back from their vacation with the camera tonight, hopefully there's enough space left to sneak in a couple pictures :). I'll post pictures of the entire set up... ballasts, wiring, and final look.

QUOTE(lancerpower4b11 @ Jun 15 2008, 06:17 PM) nice, clean look to the lights(not wiring lol, i wouldn't of done any better) I want hids! I actually went in and cleaned it up. I feel liberated! MobileHID.com has the best HIDs for the best price. I've purchased both my HID kits from them with absolutely ZERO regrets :)

QUOTE(lancerpower4b11 @ Jun 17 2008, 04:42 PM) What do you do about the DRLs? Do you just turn your lights on to get around them or what? If you did the DRL bypass method, i looked at that and it makes no sense to me at all lol. Do you recommend me doing this DRL Bypass? if so im then I'll need to be teached what exactly to do and what everything is. When I first got my HIDs, I left them on ALL the time to avoid them from flickering. I finally found all the parts to do afeudale's bypass (#3) and since I know how to solder, I had no difficulty putting it together. If you have a hard time understanding how to do the DRL bypass, I suggest letting somebody else do it for you, especially if you are going to be doing it directly to the harness (instead of a separate 9006 cable).
