Alright...if something goofy is going to happen...then it usually happens to me.
I installed a new set of spark plugs the other night. Pulstar Pulse. Ever sonce that time, my Sirius is making a light popping noise when the car revs up in gear or while stopped. Sound like something like static, but who knows. It never did that before the plugs & now.......AM/FM & the music server all are fine.
I'll take the extra power over the Sirius anyways, but still alittle annoying.

Any ideas?

I'm thinking that advertised 20K more powerful spark wasn't a marketing ploy after all <_<

If the sirius antenna is located near the engine, then it'll make sense that the antenna is picking up the spark plug's EMWs. If that's possible =\ Because spark plugs do... pop a bolt. =\
I mean the MS and AM/FM antenna are pretty far from the engine themselves. I just don't know where the sirius antenna is since it's separate from the antenna that's sticking out the roof.

That's the ECU using your satellite radio to transmit data back to your dealership so they know you are using aftermarket parts!

Siriusly, put your stock plugs back in and see if it is the plugs that are causing the pops.

Oh dear... it took me awhile to get that you guys were kidding about the ecu using the radio

Yeah, so I'm guessing the Sirius antenna is somewhere near the engine compartment, if you can reroute the antenna farther away from the engine, the popping noise should be gone or die down =\

The radio antenna is on the back roof of the car, but the lead that goes to the back of the radio....??????? Not sure.

I guess our car isn't supposed to handle the 1.21 gigawatts that the new plugs put out :bwekk:
It's not a really loud popping sound....just a little annoying popping.

Are you sure its not just that you're listening to channel 43 (BackSpin)????

Hearing all that old skool hiphop I sometimes start pop-a-locking, lol.

Siriusly, problem has gotta be the plugs sparking.
Gotta trace the sirius wiring to find where they come too close.

Def listening to the old school LOL!

It really isn't loud, but I hear it after I replaced the plugs.....My free 6 months to Sirius is going to expire soon. Not really worried if I extend it or not. They will probably send me something in the mail like XM did for me in the past with a killer deal to where you can't refuse the deal...then I'll get it back.
Otherwise I have a TON of music that I can put on the server, so I will always have a little sumthin sumthin to listen to.

I guess it's just another little gripe that I will have to live with. Gotta take the good with the bad.

Mine will be expiring also. I got the letter.
I didn't think they had my info as I didn't ever turn it on w/ them.
I was actually waiting for it to be turned off and then turn it on in my name (as a few ppl I know did with their new cars), but mitsu dealer gave them my info, so no free year for me. :crying:

Now that you say that.... I'll probably do the same thing. Wait for them to want me back.

:offtopic: Weren't XM & SIRIUS, supposed to be merging anyway... what happened w/ that?

Haha, I haven't activated mine yet.

:offtopic: But what about that free year? Seems much better than the 6months deal

-Edit:
They already merged O_o; That's where the live traffic comes from on other navigation systems. No wait, guess not. They still need permission from the FCC ...so says the wiki.
