hi i havent done this before so im wondering where to start if i want to clean the throttle body and plate. I read some before and since my magna is idling at high revs when i start it and sometimes revving and stalling altogether i figure this could be the problem. Any ideas?

just need a bit more info on your car
V6 or a 4 cyl

at a guess
first undo the battery terminals to reset the computers

then idle the car for 2 minutes aprox then switch off

the idle stepper motor controller may be the problem if a V6
the Throttle position sensor needs adjusting

fuel filter and injectors may be clogged
you could use injector cleaner in the tank after replacing the filter

to clean the throttle body
undo the air filter snorkle on the throttle body

yes its a 2003 v6

thanks for your reply

its up for servicing so i will replace the fluids and filters...i have been so busy working that everywhere is shut to service it so i will probably be doing it myself..

..i will have to check the manual for the fuel filter as im not sure where it is...how long is too long to leave a fuel filter before changing it?

thanks for the info on the throttle body, that would seem so obvious to most/some yet we all start somewhere!

i cant find a plug on the transmission fluid to replace it or is this even necessasary?

i have no idea where the throttle position sensor is or how to adjust it...
i will see how it goes after the service before i try that

im also looking to install a turbo and wondering what price i should look for?

.. i once saw some pics of some elbow-like braces that improve the handling yet i cant remember what theyre are called and i want to nstll these before the tubp....theyre were posiid under the car and there was one for each wheel. they looked very reliable...moreso than a standard strut brace....from all reports ive been losing faith in the idea of the strut brace....are there other more foundation-related things i can do to improve the handling?
