so i'm in the market for a 90-94 tsi/gsx. i see one parked in my home town at a small dealer. i can't tell if its awd or not because i didn't get that far.

well the guy selling it isn't there and the dealer doesn't know **** about them. so i'm waiting around to see the owner/seller and i'm circling the car, here are some key points.

a huge TURBO badge on the back....
under that a NOS nitros systems badge
under that a badge that simply reads RACING

on the windows he has writing such as,
"drag ready"
"Racing car"
"huge turbo"
i pop the hood (with hood pins)
its a stock 14b
the exhaust manifold is spray painted silver
the radiator hoses are painted red
the intercooler piping is painted red
it has an uncirculated BOV that doesn't dump into the intake
the valve cover is spray painted silver
the spark plug cover is spray painted silver
the cam gear cover is spray painted silver
i think we get the point on the engine

i open the door and there is not a single piece of the interior there.
2 front seats (stock with seat covers
he some how cut and got a 4 point harness to get threw the seat and attach in the front
the ac knobs and what not are painted red
no radio
no nothing
huge tack
no boost guage
just rediculous but something i can work with.
it has 178 on it so i figure around 2 or 3k tops.
he wanted 4k and wasn't budging

i'll try to get some. but after the guy told me he wasn't budging from 4k i told him good luck. so i don't know if he'll let me look at it again.

it also only allowed test rides, no test drives.

4k sounds a little stupid for a car he doesn't seem to know anything about, usually they fix the car before they sell it, he is a ****......

ask him questions about the car?

Size injectors?
fuel pump?
size turbo?
brand of the manifold?

Ask him if it's AWD, see if he knows what that means. :haha:

i'm giving up on him. found my self a TT stealth. picking it up today if it checks out.

id just go **** with the guy haha what size turbo is it how much boost what kind of emc does it have does the spray paint on motor make it go faster etc... haha

me and my buddy were going to and when we stopped the car was gone. i guess its a driver for someone.

sometimes dealers not knowing is a good thing. I got my AWD with a new nicely built motor, some nice aftermarket parts, some not so nice aftermarket parts that I could sell to some honda kid, with 107k miles, nice interior, nice exterior for $5k.

Dealer had no idea that the only problem with the car was the knock sensor was bad so it would pull hard then almost sit down and cry, had no idea the engine had 3k miles on it, and that the "idle problem" was because of the larger cams.

but as far as spray paint?? c'mon it isn't a honda, paint and graphix don't add horsepower to DSM's like they do to civic hatches. :P
