Could be a waste gate issue. a couple year back i thin 4 years ago , my Galant VR-4 was showin on the gauge as boosting well into 1.8 bar , which was borderline red , i did have a little seemed like drivetrainj or chassis shudder as i was around 5500-7500 RPM . Turnns out the vacuum switcher valve for the wastegate , not opening the valve and making the turbo spool up more than normal.

Higher octane petrol , yeah the spark plug leads possibly , but generally they would cause a miss under the slightest loads and not just under higher rpm situations, general excelleration bearing any load would produce a miss/shudder frum outfiring if the leads are possibly bad. Low octane can produce premature detonation , even knock retard , uneven combustion at higher rpm and higher boost situations.

Please tell me you're running bigger than stock turbo's. 21 psi is quite alot. You are over working them if they are the tiny snails that came with her.

I agree, you need to check plugs and wires first. If they are good, you are probably boosting too much.

:offtopic:
Scotty, you need your avatar back. I don't recognize you without the purple thing.

First how do you know you are boosting 21?

Second It is a boost leak because when you took the tornado out you didn't get your intake pipes on correctly and they are leaking.

I just read this thread....and i was wondering if they may have turned up the boost a little bit to counteract the possible air flow restriction from the tornado??? It's just a thought. Is there a manual boost controller anywhere on the car?
