i just picked up a 1997 eclipse gs with 100,000 miles on it for 750.00
the timing belt broke and bent two valves is why i was able to get it so cheap

its an automatic id prefer a manual but for the price i had to get it
just found out how much work it is to pull the head but managed to get it off after going at it for two days

just had a few questions
is there a way to clean the headlights so they arnt corroded or do they sell glass ones for the 97
also has anyone ever cleaned their cloth seats before? any suggestions?
i'll take pics if anyones interested

They sell a headlight polishingkit at the autoparts stores. Also aluminum mag polish also works good.

You might be able to steam clean the seats lightly, or dye them to look better. Pics of the car would be awesome.

PlastX is a very good chemical also a freind of mines told me to use that and 1000 grit sandpaper I saw the work it looked almost like new.

But I got one question, How much work was it to get the head off and do you forsee any timming belt issues or any other major issues when putting it all back together?

Lime away.

Oxy clean for the seats. Or they make a foam for car seats.

I stoped at autozone and got plastx made by mequiars it seemed to work i tried it on the drivers side headlight on the left corner after i used mag polish the day before

i want to bring the lens inside and take my time with it how do you remove the entire lens i looked in the chilton repair manual i just bought it doesnt say

fullmoon
a lot more work than i would have thought its so cramed in their it seems like they tried to make it hard when designing the layout you have to jack the engine up on the left side to get the engine mount bracket bolts out also their were two bolts holding the intake manifold down preventing the head from coming out hiding behind a vacuum box and even when you find these two bolts its still hell getting to them
i wouldnt have been able to get it out i would probley have giving up my dad is a machinist and i helped him do it and it gave him a good fight lol
i dont see any issues just a lot of tideus work

heres some pics
