Its like if you painted the outside a different color. It doesn't matter.

Finally finished it.... Pretty sexy with the red calipers

did you use the same paint on the calipers, or did you have to use something different?

Nice look, its original, how did you go about the red behind the symbol?

All I really wanted was a red outline but when I was painting it, the paint was super wet and it looked bad. So I figured it was fudged and just started messin around. Its alright for now but I'll prob get the carbon trix one after the new headers come out!

STEALING FULLMETALPANIC'S GLORY!!!

INJEN CAI FOR THE WIN.

 , but man what a pain this was! At the end, I was just like "Forget this" and put one single heavy coat on top and let it dry in my super hot trunk. The worst part was when I was painting it in my alley and my sister was like "Willy, what's that thing on the paint?" And she touches the wet paint.

...

Fortunately, I started on the spark plug cover. Cleaned off all the old paint, sanded it down, cleaned it up, and put one single heavy coat on top.

Note to everybody who wants to paint... MULTIPLE LIGHT COATS! You waste a lot less paint and you get a much smoother finish.

Overall, I'm really satisfied with the results... and I would like to thank fullmetalpanic. She inspired me to do this! My exact words were... "If she can do it, so can I!"

THANKS FMP!!!

lol, yeah... I couldn't help it. That piece came off when I was removing the tape last night.

Another point... PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE! I had the thing cleaned, painted, and installed all in the course of 3 hours. If I let the paint sit overnight, I wouldn't have that issue.

I'm actually thinking about buying another can and redoing the whole engine cover again. The spark plug cover is fine though. Any methods on removing the stuff?

About the only way that I can think of to do it right William....JUST TAKE MINE! Holy cow man.....that looks G-R-E-A-T! I wish I wasn't such a lazy slug...I would love to do something like that to mine. BUT, I stink at painting...I have ZERO patience & I have kids...so ZERO time.... <_<
Man...it really sets off the engine bay....really nice work man

ARE F****** SERIOUS?

i cant believe u ould ask that. u actually think that has anything to do with warranty?

the ony thing that can effect ur warranty is if any sort of MOD is directly related to any part of the car failing/ or breaking or anything of the sort.

how in hell can painting ur cover effect ur car in any way? it cant. for anything to effect ypur warranty it has to be directly related to ur failed part or parts and be proven that that MOD was the cause.

this has been talked about before in other posts.

Only advice i have to remove it, would be paint thinner and/or sanding it down again. You wont be able to get rid of it all but thats why you have primer to go over the old paint to apply the new.
