Sometimes they have ways of telling if you didn't have a stock part on your car and you just switched it out before you came, or at least I've known people who had that problem. That and if you're the second owner of the car you have to make sure the first owner kept meticulous records and make sure everything was done at the proper mileage. Cause if the previous owner waited one mile too long then sometimes the whole warranty is shot.
So I'd still check it. Just make sure you have every single service record and receipts from every oil change. Cause some mitsubishi dealerships are pickier than others.
dude if that is the case replace the parts then throw some dust on it, good grief! also to void your warranty from Preventative Maintenance services the dealership has to provide substantial proof that it was because of the part, or job that caused the malfunction.
all anyone has to do for a Stealership who is going to cause them these kinds of problems, threaten a legal suit. that will mean not only the maintenance manager and the store manager will have to spend time in court, but that normally brings in the store owner, or the corporate representative.
it ends up costing the dealership more money to prove the warranty was voided than to just fix the problem. i had a friend go through it with a car company that said because he put a cold air intake on his car it caused his 2003 RSX motor to blow up at 8,000 miles. he even ended up in court (he has a pre-pay lawyer), the dealership had very little proof that the intake could have even caused it. "not exactly substantial evidence" is what the judge said to the dealership owner and the judge sided with my friend. my friend ended up getting a new car out of the deal.
