Was reading around to find some sites to buy perfomande parts for the 2008 and found http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/

Has anyone tried their exhaust? http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/store/i...&products_id=74

Love magnaflows, looks like direct bolt on + I hate the looks of greedy type mufflers (Cylindrical). I have also checked into the works one but I dont want a straight pipe, I work at 5 am in the morning don't want to wake up the whole block!

Thanks

Crap! I found my answer 2 secs after posting this... Had no idea RRM standed for roadrace motors -_- Read that they rust real quick which will be a problem up here in winter.

Mods feels free to delete this if you wish, always having fords this is a whole new world of parts and companies for me!

First... I have a bias, since I own a GReddy Exhaust (which bolts on as well)..

but from my experience (which may be a little amount) you either get a deep... "wake up the block" sound....

http://youtube.com/watch?v=xWw1AYIcong

or you have something like this which IMO sounds like someone blowing their nose

http://youtube.com/watch?v=AsCoV_uT2Y4

I haven't heard any inbetweens
I believe that one you linked to could be a nose blower. Though I cannot validate it because no one has put together a vid clip for it. :(
Maybe you can get some info or even better a soundclip from RRM to get more familiar with it.

And yeah I'm with ya.... the works your paying ca$h for just a pipe. Not Cool.

I get up pretty early too, but (no offense) I don't bow down to my neighbors.
I pay money for my spot.

But to each their own. Good Luck.

Ford has a bad rep that is not necessarily justified. I dont regret the Escort I had as a first car nor the Focus. Great fun little cars..

Edit: Thanks mitsu_fizzle, you posted at same time I posted this :P

Usually magnaflows have a deep tone but keep the noise down, which would be perfect. (I've had magnas on my 2 previous cars)

Now only thing worrying me is that someone said the tip rusts, which is a no no for me... I'll look into getting a sound clip from rrm.

The rep is deserved trust me.
They had that little problem with a brake oil leaking on to a wire which caused their cars to catch fire when not running. They only confirmed this in the Expeditions and F-150s (because thats where most of the burnings occured), but it has happenned to The Taurus' and Mustangs.
My mom lost her house and almost her life because of their crap Mustang (which was completely DEALER MAINTAINED down to the radio and tires).

They still have the FORD family involved and have to much pride and take too much time to admit their faults and recall and fix things, instead they try to mask it.

Needless to say. Fords are not my cup of tea. :offtopic: Rant Over

But back to the matter at hand, if it rusts don't mess w/ it. Too much money to take that chance.

:amen:
ha i would add to this but im not tryn to get that far off topic lol

but anyway..on topic..come on man wake up the neighbors WHO CARES!! lol jk

if you want sound and dont mind wasting money on something that isnt worth it...get the works "PIPE WITH TIP" lol..
sike on a serious note..
the best way for you to go since whats on the market generally doesnt fit your style..would be to take your car to a muffler shop near by and have them weld up an exhaust using w/e components you want...you could make an exact replica of the RRM exhaust for half the price.
i would suggest borla mufflers if you dont like the can style... but thats just me.
good luck

not a prob..i got the pipe mandrel bent at a muffler shop near by...cut the stock flange off one of the two stock mufflers i have...(dont ask lol) took it to my buddies house..welded the flange to the pipe and ordered a nice muffler offline..and welded a few hangers to the frame..and there ya go. the most expensive part was the muffler because i wanted something nice.

beats tha hell outta anything on the market as far as price goes...and you can also have the added pride in making your own parts!

That deep tone won't wake up the neighbors but it will wake you up!

I got a Magnaflow and and about 30-40 mph it bug's me to death! I'm gonna have my resonator removed ASAP.

Rust I ain't seen any rust on mines needs polish and a buffer to keep it clean is all.

Now you wanna wake up the hood get some a whistle tip they'll be throwing rocks at cha!!!

They banned em in Kalifornia cuz they tick off people and anything else with ears!!! :)

Do a search on the net you'll laugh ya head off!!! :haha:

See that? A custom 2.5" cat-back exhaust for under $300. Well done lancerOX. What kind of material did they use? I'm guessing it wasn't stainless steel because that's way too cheap of a price for stainless steel. Then again, you live in Miami so you don't need to worry about snow and salt destroying your muffler.

And forget about the video... how does the car feel? Low end RPM? 3500+ RPM?
