Has anyone had a good look at the amp? Takin the seat out and did an inspection? Most amps have a gain on them. You can adjust the output. Every amp I have ever installed had one. I just havn't got around to looking at mine. If someone does they should post some picts of what it actually looks like. It's hard to see what you have with the seat in.

Where would I find the amp I have the RF and I noticed this volume decrease yesterday while listening to a CD.
I have the settings on "Normal" +3 Bass, +2 Mid and Treble.

I don't know if the speed sensitive volume is on, I don't have the manual yet to check or change.

I guess 30 is loud enough, but it messes with my head that all of a sudden it gets noticeably quieter.

Amp is under the drivers seat, in a plastic case.

If you have the "sun and sound" package it does well, but I don't think the stock (4 speaker) stereo has as much power.
Easy identifiers of the package are the Rockford Fosgate badge on the radio console, tweeters on the door, and a sub in the trunk.

Don't forget the sunroof as an easy identifier!
Can we stay on topic? I'm looking for a solution to the volume decrease after the first second of loud songs, not for information about which package I paid for.

Nice choice in color, as for the 650W I ain't got a clue, I know the 09 Eclipse comes with that capability but I cannot find any documentation that would confirm the hardware is consistent through the models.

^+1...

Did anyone read this???
Thought I'd quote it as it seemed to be overlooked...
This may be the solution to what everyone is complaining about.. HELLO McFly??
I hope there is a switch to just turn the "feature" off. Wishful Thinking, huh?

Anyway, I will be looking into this, but I don't know if the controls will be adjustable w/o breaking into it....
I dont remember seeing any knobs on it.

We'll see.

I had posted a similar question on another post. Simple solution! I added an alpine pdx 5 amp and WOW, the system is really what it should be. The car never felt like it had 650 amp system, but now with the new alpine amp, systems sounds crazy and will make you go deaf!

Did you have to "hack" in to the factory wiring? If what these cars need is a better amp I am all for that, just don't want to cut up the factory wiring to do it. Do you have any picts of the install?
Thanks :nahrung034:

This is a great topic as many here have the rf system and we all seem to have this same problem. So here's a bump. I may be able to take a closer look as well. Also, I know the pdx 5 is a 5 channel amp but isn't the sub a dual voice coil? so wouldn't the stock amp be 6 channels? or is the 5th channel run in a series to both voice coils?
