I recently had a shop fitted a clear bra on my car but there is a small cut (~2cm) in the film, the shop agreed to re-do it for free but they mention that it may *potentially* affect the paint underneath. Anyone else had their clear bra removed before, and if so did it affect the paint?

first of all, if the shop is saying that crap they are a shoddy shop and they are looking to pad your bill. fact of the matter is most clear bra's are basically a clear stick on vinyl sticker. the removal of those are pretty easy with lots of patience. its just like taking off window tint. use of a non abrasive chemical for glue will help, and use of piping hot boiling water helps.

if it were me, i would remove the clear bra myself and then have them put on the new one. get yourself the biggest pots you have and fill them all up with water. and heat them all to a boil. then start by pouring one on one corner of the bra. get it heated until the bra is easily peeled up by your fingernail. then you simply keep heating the bra up as you remove it. you can also use a steamer if you own one, which a lot of tinting and vinyl shop own them for this purpose. once the bra is off there always tends to be some adhesive that falls of of the vinyl or stick, or badge. whatever it is you remove. using a non abrasive adhesive remover you soak it then scrape it off with a soft edge plastic knife tool. you can find these at your local hardware stores in the paint departments. then after that to get the final pieces off you put more boiling water and then use a piece of rubber and rub it off.

if that changes the integrity of your paint then the shop screwed up your paint job yo.

Just have the shop that originally install the clear bra re-do the work. If any additional damage is done to the car, hold them liable for the repairs, legally.
