So when is it going to be for sale? I Just got my paycheck thursday and wanted to buy one on tuners, but it looks like you sold your last 2. Anyways, Release date? And in this next version, can you make paddle shifters for them? If not, is it possible to buy these items http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/partdetail...Button_Kit/7789and use them as shifters by adapting them to work on your kit?

Right now, I am only selling the standard 2 button with the paddle shifter possibilities. I had 2 in stock which had been sitting there for awhile so I decided to move them quicker out the door. The new version will have all the same features as the old one, but it will have a bunch more features on top of that (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Paddle shifters will not come with the new version because I have not found any that will 100% work with DSM's, but there will still be a port to plug some into (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . Not sure on a release date yet since I have not finished ordering the custom parts that I need. I do have enough parts in stock to build 1 or 2 more of the standard 2 button that I sell now, so if you are interested in getting one of those, PM me and I will hook you up! As for the paddle shifters you found, I am sure they will work as long as each button has it's own 2 wires from it. I did not see anything about it having wires with it, so I am not 100% sure how that would work. I figure if I get 4 or 5 more standard 2 button shifters out the door, I should be able to complete all orders for the new version. Once all the parts are ordered, I will finish building the finished prototype and will test it for about a month to ensure everything works perfect. Once it is all complete, they will be out on the market (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hello, This is actually extremely intriguing, I have been looking for a way to make my automatic Cavalier shift more like a standard. Its a 2003 and I was wondering if your product would work with it. I do not know much about solenoids or whatnot, so I was wondering if you know off hand if it would work?. Thanks, David PS. Sorry for posting about a Cavalier everyone (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) :P

If you can find the TCU pinout and the solenoid sequence, I can build the box to work for you (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Most dealers will be able to find this out for you. Be sure to stay on the phone with them while they look it up.... They usually ask for your number and say they will call you back. Never happens (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Thanks, David

Nice! I am also interested, unfortunately, I under estimated the repair costs of my transmission which might lead me to have to rebuild it for $1500. I would love to have purchase this item unfortunately my transmission dun got blowed up! I thought it would just be the oil pump (easy fix) but it might be the clutches too. My mechanic is going to do a full quote tomorrow morning, If it's good news and only a pump (get this my talon only has 67k miles!!), then I will purchase the shiftbox. If it is a total rebuild, then I might have to wait. I don't want to wait, I want this thing bad haha! I'll give you an update tomorrow

Well guys....as some of you may know, I will be a father soon so I decided to try and save up to get some parts for my car before my kid gets here. So on that thought, I have decided to give a good discount on the shift boxes. To get the discount, use the coupon code below : Code : itsaboy Price is $150 shipped! This code will only be available until I am able to get an SAFC2 and some 650 injectors. I can trade as well (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE (Nefarious21 @ Jun 24 2009, 11:34 PM) This product sounds great but wont it kinda of be the same as putting the car in L and upshifting. I know that puts alot of stress on the transmission. Actually....it is not the same because when you move the shift lever to shift, it sends a signal to the TCU saying you want to shift but it will have to wait till the throttle and RPM are at the right combination according to the shift maps in the TCU. This will make it take longer to shift than if you were using the shift box. When you press the upshift or downshift button on the shift box, it shift instantly with no delay. As for stress on the transmission...yes, there is a little more stress depending on how you drive with the shift box. WOT throttle shifts kick a little hard since all the shifts are at 100% throttle. I have been driving with my shift box for over a year without a single problem (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Believe it or not, the transmission temperature is actually cooler than when I was driving with the TCU. This is because the transmission does not have to "slip" to change gears.

Correct me if I am wrong here but isn't what you created basically is directly controlling the electronic solenoids? and no actual valve body mods? Myself I would like to see an aftemarket valve body much like TurboAction makes. It also has a reverse shift pattern that eliminates accidental shifts to neutral. It is a completely manual shift unit with positive shift points, enough to bark the tires in 2nd & 3rd. This used along with the manual convertor lock up switch( a friend of mine had a tq lock switch on his on his AWD Galant about 3 years ago.) would be perfect. Adding a high stall convertor would also be great, especially with a turbo. A bigger Trans cooler would be needed and possible a deeper trans pan to help keep things cool.
