I just dropped my car off to the shop to get new struts and lowering springs installed, said it was going to be 250 for all four. Is this a good price? This is just for the labor I bought the struts and springs seperatly on my own.

Well I had KYB struts and springs, but I bought them with the car, so all Im paying for is springs and struts install. Just the labor, I will say the guy has to cut the top of the front ones to make them fit so he does have a little modding too do. From what I have read online 250 sounds fair for the work, just was gonna see what others thought here. :liebe011:

he shouldn't have to cut anything if you got the right parts

I think the front ones had a nob on the top, lewiman06 is who I bought em from said they would need to be cut, not sure if their universal, or what not. Probably are if there not a straight fit.

Strut spring compressors are around 30 bux at autozone. You'll use them once then your friends will borrow them from you all the time. It'll take around two hours to do all four and all you need is basic tools. I would save my money for other upgrades and do it myself if I were you. NOTHING SHOULD HAVE TO BE CUT. If the kit says otherwise, buy a different kit.

it is very dangerous though. If he hasn't done them before or doesn't have anyone with him who has done them before it's probably a better idea to let the shop do it. $250 for labor sounds about right. If I can remember right we charged around $240 for all four corners at sears. usually shops won't let you bring in your own parts though so thats a plus for them

THE SPRINGS DON"T NEED TO BE CUT!!
it was the front strut stabalizer that needed to be cut. the screws weren't comming out and i took it to a shop (base shop, lifts and techs on hand) and they said the bar needed to be cut. like an 11 dollar part or something like that. but since i know you already have them installed i don't know why i'm even posting. post a pic, i wanna see my baby dropped.
