If you are thinking about swapping, you may want to consider just putting in the 4g63 or 4g64

The 6a12 is the FTO engine, and although it is pretty sweet, and it was an amazing car, I don't see the point in doing it.

wrong thread dawg.. haha :P

You could get them from an avenger also. I think it is a 96 - 99 but don't quote me on that. You just need to make sure it has the 420a and not the 6G74 engine in it.

yup, i was going to do the swap but couldnt find a decent transmission around here. so, if you need a clutch pedal, shifter, master cylinder, i think i have all those. and possibly a clutch and flywheel.

I was under the impression that you needed to replace the ecu as well if you were converting to manual.

the only difference is the rev limit is at 6.5k rpms instead of 7k, wow 500rpm difference not a big deal.

that's just for turbo cars. the n/t car ECU's rely on feedback from the transmission for fuel maps. it is essential for n/t 420 cars to change out their ecu unless they want 12 mpg

btw rev limit for 420 5-speed cars is about 76-7700rpm. from 6500-7600, that's a big difference

My rev limiter ,in my 96 5 speed, kicks in at about 7400 rpms.
