Have you ever seen this little section at the top of the forum... where moderators put special topics. I think they are called stickies or something like that.

Anyways, there is this topic called:
Pinned: Upgrade Options For The 3G

Maybe you should look at that one... just an idea. Possibly... I could be wrong though.

There is also a search button that allows you to search topics. You should try that too.

But here is a short list:
Andysautosport.com
ptuning.com
sc-customs.com
ebay
craigslist
your local performance shop

hey nick when was the last time you checked the links on that post? i suggest being that your a moderator you do and fix all the broken ones. because if you don't, there is just a crap ton of broken links on that post.

its not exactly up today, being that it was posted in 2005 and most of those weblinks are so outdated it brings you to a now non-existent web page. or web page not found message.

below i list them and then tell you whether they are good or not.

1st and 2nd NOPI links - broken

ripp mod header links both V6 and 4cyl- web page cannot be found

tearstone headers link - page not found

both RPW headers - web page not found

DC sports 4 cyl headers- good link

all of the electronics links - web page not found

suspension links - good

brake link - good

transmission link- system cannot find the path

intake manifold links - good

all engine building links - content could not be found

engine building e-mail still good i hope

difference between super and turbo link - good

all of the supercharger links - web page cannot be found

weighing the good links verse the bad links there are more webpages not found or domain expired than good links. if your going to offer advice for links i suggest you at least tell him to go to a place worth checking.

here is the good and bad links on the useful links page which i would say is the only real useful links to after market parts for our cars, though there are still some bad links on it.

good links
http://tearstone.com/
http://store.sc-customs.com/
http://www.deyemeracing.com/
http://www.tialsport.com/
http://www.turboxs.com/
http://www.summitracing.com/
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/
http://www.titanmotorsports.com/

Bad links: :gunsmilie:
http://www.hightempsilicone.com/
http://opusx.dyndns.org/garage/safc/install.pdf
http://dthreedesigns.com/index.php

maybe you can replace the bad links, or just erase them all together. either way it will waste less time for the new members than i have just wasted updating your information on the good and bad links. if i were a moderator here i would try to update the information on a monthly basis. that way the links were not broken every time i suggested to use them. i realize that sometimes it gets annoying having young paddawons ask the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over again, but there is no reason to act rude, be condescending, or sarcastic about it ever single time. were better than club3G.com aren't we? like i have said before, there should be a post in the new members forum on how to navigate our forum. the informational video is nice, but doesn't tell them how to perform it all on our specific designed forum.

The point is not to give links. It is so that people know brands they can use. Then you can use this thing called google... search for it, it it'll be all good.

Agreed.

Either way, I took the liberty of updating most of it. Rather than linking to the direct products (which is what most of the links were doing) I changed so that it would just direct to the company.

Target links change often as webmasters update online stores and move products and categories around. I also updated the product options, some explanations, etc. with more current products and removed anything referencing old and/or discounted items.

thank you SC, thats all i was really asking for! there is no need to be mean to the newbies until they have reached member status. if after they become a regular member they have not figured out how to better search for topics and locate appropriate posts, then i see no fault in ripping them a new one, but come on! a newbie, is a newbie, is a newbie! let them have a couple mistakes before we make them feel like a complete jerk, all right? its only common decency to do so.

as a member who tends to be under constant scrutiny by the moderating team, i feel for these newbies who are asking valid questions. although most of them have already been addressed, it is hard to be mean to the ones who are not only new to our forum, but are possibly new to using any forum to get advice and questions answered.

i was new to all sources of forums when i arrived here, and i have been ripped a new one on many occasions. i feel for these guys sometimes. i wrote a guide on how to navigate our forum more properly that needs to be stickied to the new members sub forum. i don't see it happening since most of the moderating team seems to dis-like that fact that i over compensate questions, but the fact of the matter is. we are missing a guide to navigating our forum more accurately, you guys seem to lean towards letting them learn on their own, yet get mad when they ask a question that can easily be found my learning to navigate this forum properly.

if you simply sticky the post i wrote to the new members area sub-forum as a must read, or a read before you post sticky. i don't see why it wouldn't be common knowledge on how to find anything and everything in our forum. that would then make ridiculing the new members completely valid. i did a quick searched through this forum, and the facts are as follows. yes the new members sticky that has the video is a nice guide, but it is not specific to our forum. the post i have written is more design specific, also it is the only navigational information i found aside form the video EMC posted.

here is a link to the topic where i posted it, it is the forth post down. i challenge any moderator to look at it and then tell me seriously that it doesn't have better and more valid information on how to navigate our forum. i highly doubt any of you will seriously disagree with it.
