Pllllllllease someone help

I have 2001 Pajero 3.5 GDi (Japanese Import), the vehicle was drowned and bent one Conrad. The engine was rebuilt and managed to get the engine started. However, the idle was very rough and I was directed to the ECU (the one by passenger seat) as water went inside, I got a second hand ECU and pulled out the original ECU and that was when my nightmare started. We could not start the vehicle and yet there was a spark and fuel delivery. When I put back the old ECU the car would still not start.

I then opted for an after market ECU which also failed. I have now bought a rolled (accident) same model which I have removed the engine as well as the ECU and I am still experiencing the same problem, the vehicle cranks and sparks but no combustion. Could this mean that the ECU needs to be reprogrammed/remapped or does this mean that the Immobilizer ECU does not communicate with the new ECU?

Also, pls advise on the most reliable Diagnostic system that will be able to sort out my problem other than the dealers MUTS III as I have no joy with them or if you know anyone who would help in Botswana or South Africa

Hope someone will be able to help

Sounds ,like there is a host of electrical issues. And yes the Immobilizer unit needs to retain the same ECU ,Ignition Lock Cylinder id match as far as i know. Wut an immobilizer will do in most cases is paralize fuel spray /fuel injectors and other features.
