hi,
i just installed the sard trigger boost controller on my 4g93 engine.i am boosting at 1.1 bar now. however, i noticed that the boost pressure is not constant, like maybe yesterday at WOT in third the boost was 1.11bar, today it will be 0.95bar...does the boost controller needs tuning that often or is it the cause of boost leak?

Usually when accelerating, the boost will remain constant at about 1.1bar..until about 6500rpm wear it will gradually drop to as low as 0.9 when i reach the 7500rpm..wat do u guys think is the cause of this problem?if its the turbo leak, how can i verify it?
oh ya.. another thing..does anyone knows the ignition timing for this engine?is it 5 or 10 btdc?
hope someone can shed some light here..thanks

Your boost will vary depending on the air temperature and other factors. If you have an electronic boost controller it will maintain your boost to what you set it.

You may also want to try and increase the size of the pipe running from the internal wastegate to your intercooler pipe to avoid restriction.

I have a machanical boost controller using a solinoide valve to alter boost from 12psi to 16 psi. I too notice the difference in boost when the air is hot or cold outside.

On a cold night for instance, you will see the boost will be higher and more efficient and the GSR is very responsive. During a hot day, the boost will be lower and runs sliggish.

The td04 that comes standard with the 1.8 gsr runs out of puff in the higher rev range, bolting on a td05 will give you a more constant boost all the way through, but the price you pay is a slightly more sluggish take off depending on the size intercooler piping you choose straight off the turbo.

Hope this helps a bit.
