I was checking the local gas prices on gasbuddy.com when I came across this website www.thegassecret.net and I wanted to see if you guys know anything about this Ethos thing.

They claim gas savings of up to 19% by putting this thing in both the gas tank and the motor oil and it doesn't come cheap.

It smells like scam to me, but who knows ...

... your 2 cents

i didn't even bother to look at the link, here's the bottom line, if its not world wide or used by everyone, then its probably a sham.

think about it, if there was something that could same 19% gas, with rising gas prices and oil problems, don't you think it would be widely advertised?

Exactly!

Doesn't anyone think if the manufacturers with all the R&D $ and Engineering couldn't make the cars more efficient you think some jacka$$ out of a hole could just simply come up with a miracle device to cut your consumption just like that?!

Now, I'm not defending this site becuase I would bet everything I have that its a scam... but when you talk about the manufacturere and thier R&D... they can better improve the gas mililage in all vehicles but the cost of doing it all and making these new engines is more than they want to put out... so SOME things out there are better for your car because someone would acually take out the time and money to care about the normal consumer. But there will never be a "pill" or fuel additive that woudl increase you car's gas consumption.

that is simply ridiculous and wrong.

the car makers HAVE to comply to CAFE standards. they have NO choice.
if they dont, they get hit with HUGE penalties.
the automakers spend millions (and indeed billions) on cars. They do make some compromises during the engineering stages, obviously, but rest assured they are trying to get every last MPG out of their cars.

if a 19 dollar piece of junk added 10% to the mileage without any compromises, it WOULD be on the car.
