I own a '92 Colt 100 with the 1.5 G15B engine and automatic. The car has 196,000 km on it and is in excellent condition (both mechanically and bodywise), but in the last ten months it's developed an intermittant stalling problem that comes up when the engine is restarted while still warm. It will start and run normally, but under certain conditions- usually on throttle liftoff, but also occasionally in stop and go traffic or while sitting at a red light- the engine will suddenly lose power and quit. Usually the engine won't start again right away after stalling, but it will after I've let it sit about a minute or so with the ignition switched completely off. The ECU appears to be OK (no codes have come up and the check-engine light has never come on) and we've cleaned the throttle body, replaced the fuel filter and checked over the charging and ignition systems. Last September we did adjust the idle speed and the car ran flawlessly throughout the winter, but about six weeks ago the problem started coming back again (I've noticed it tends to stall when the temperature is between 5 and 15 degrees Celsius). Any idea what might be going on? Thanks.
